This whimsical imagery caught on film by the multi-talented Ophelia Mikkelson, for sustainable label Good Studios, is a delight. Mikkelson evokes a sense of simple beauty working playfully with the natural environment  of a lush New Zealand countryside, as well as classical sculptural forms, to highlight the timeless and natural origins that continue to be the driving force behind each Good Studios collection.

Good Studios was founded in 2012 by Adelaide - based production designer and stylist, Anny Duff. It is a sustainable clothing and homewares label championing hemp fabrics and exploring contemporary design:

“I WAS WORKING IN FILM AND TELEVISION AS AN ART DIRECTOR AND HAD A REAL DESIRE TO BUILD SOMETHING OF MY OWN THAT I COULD BE PRECIOUS ABOUT. I GREW UP ON AN ORGANIC FARM MY PARENTS LOVINGLY BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP SO I REALLY WANTED TO RECONNECT WITH MY SUSTAINABLE UPBRINGING. SO MUCH OF MY WORK AS AN ART DIRECTOR IS SOURCING AND BRINGING GOOD AESTHETIC COMPONENTS TOGETHER, GOOD STUDIOS WAS BORN FROM THE DRIVE TO GIVE BACK AND OFFER SOMETHING THAT COULD BE AN ALTERNATIVE FOR CONSCIENTIOUS AND LIKE-MINDED CUSTOMERS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR ETHICAL CLOTHING THAT DOESN’T COMPROMISE ON GOOD DESIGN.”  - Good Studios, ANNY DUFF

'Our film Becoming started with a simple interest in sculpture, both classical and modern. This season we have been inspired by several different works, from Rodin to Editt Davidovici. When contemplating sculpture what interested us the most was the process, physically and emotionally. We discovered the similarities between creating a work of art like a sculpture, and creating or shall we say, becoming oneself. 

Michelangelo once said "Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it." Similarly, it can be said every person has their true self inside them, and it is their task to become that. This process of becoming is what we sought to capture. The model acts as both the sculpture and the sculptor. She begins with so much material and slowly discovers what is necessary, eventually becoming herself. Her poses and aesthetic were taken from both classical and modern sculptures, juxtaposing the vibrant and architectural poses with the organic backdrop of nature.'
