Back home in the northwest surrounded by water, mountains and an abundance of greenery, I feel at home. Looking at these pictures from our trip into Joshua Tree National Park I'm reminded of the need to occasionally escape into the desert and sun.
This trip was special though, as the connection wasn't just to the lovely landscape, I found an even deeper connection to the Towns [ Kara, Team Nest | Chris, Nest by marriage ] in meeting them for the first time. An Instagram friendship with Kara turned into international texts, calls and creative projects and was now in the flesh, gathered in a modernist escape, set in the middle of the desert. I've been asked repeatedly what this meeting was like and the first thing that comes to mind is kindred; same tribe, different continents.
